It begins as ordinary clear quartz, and over millions of years natural radiation from the surrounding rock shifts trace aluminium inside the crystal lattice, deepening the stone from the faintest champagne to rich cocoa brown. These hand-polished points run that whole spectrum, from pale golden pieces you can read light through to deep, dusky towers full of veils and phantoms. No two share the same shade, because no two sat in the earth under exactly the same conditions.

The palest of the group, nearly water-clear with a soft champagne wash and a shimmering cluster of silvery internal fractures that catch the light like frost. Crisp, even faceting and a beautifully clean tip. A lovely choice if you want smoky quartz that still glows bright on a windowsill.

Point B - Silver Phantom

A pale champagne point with the most interesting interior of the whole group. A distinct silvery-grey phantom band sits partway up the body, a fossilised record of a pause in the crystal's growth, with soft misty zones below and a tiny flash of golden inclusion near the centre. One for anyone who loves a crystal with a visible story.

Point C - Golden Veil

Warm honeyed champagne with a milky cloud drifting through the lower body and fine rust-gold inclusions scattered near the crown. Softly translucent, with a gentle golden cast in daylight and a satisfying weight in the hand.

Point D - Tall Ember
80g | 9.5cm
The largest and heaviest of the collection at nearly ten centimetres, a stately champagne-smoke tower with a striking amber-rust inclusion set low in the body like a spark caught in ice. Slender, elegant and the clear statement piece of the group.

Point E - Whisky Smoke

The warmest in tone, a compact point in rich whisky-brown that deepens toward the tip, with soft internal veiling and a golden glow when backlit. Shorter and chunkier than the rest, perfect for holding in the palm.

Point F - Sunlit Smoke
64g | 8cm
A chunky, well-proportioned point in glowing amber-champagne, with a darker smoky tip and a rich rust-toned inclusion near the base. Holds light beautifully and reads warm from every angle.

Point G - Amber Shadow (Up for Adoption)
63g | 7cm
Deeper golden-brown with soft internal shadowing and a warm russet inclusion sitting low in the body. This one is up for adoption at a discounted price because the very tip is chipped. It stands, it glows and it works exactly as it should, it just needs someone who sees past a small imperfection and loves it anyway.

Point H - Tall Smoke
43g | 9cm
The tallest and slimmest of the group, an elegant spire of medium smoke with fine hairline inclusions and a darker crown. Slender enough to slip onto a shelf, tall enough to make a statement.

Point I - Deep Cocoa
42g | 7.5cm
The darkest of the collection, a dramatic near-chocolate tower with dense smoky saturation and bold internal veiling. Moody, grounding and the strongest contrast to the champagne pieces above.

About the Material
Smoky quartz is a variety of macrocrystalline quartz, silicon dioxide, coloured by natural irradiation acting on trace aluminium within the crystal structure. That process is what produces the range you see here, from barely-there champagne through to deep cocoa, and it is why genuine smoky quartz varies so widely from piece to piece.
