These little 5cm towers are carved from satin spar selenite, a stone that formed as ancient saltwater seas slowly evaporated and left behind delicate fibrous gypsum. That fibrous structure is what gives selenite its unmistakable silky sheen, a soft ribbon of light that slides across the stone as you turn it. Each one is cut with stepped, skyscraper-style tiers, so even at this pocket size the light catches on every layer and the whole tower seems lit from within.

Milky white and softly translucent, with fine vertical fibres running the full height and crisp stepped shoulders leading up to a neat squared crown. Some catch a cool blue-white shimmer through the middle when light passes behind them. Small enough to tuck anywhere, bright enough to notice. 

About the Material
Selenite is a crystallised form of gypsum, calcium sulfate dihydrate, and the silky variety used for these towers is properly called satin spar. It grows in long parallel fibres, and it is light travelling along those fibres that creates the moving sheen known as chatoyancy.
