Selenite Charging Plate | 6cm Flower of Life & Chakra Disc

These 6cm discs are cut from satin spar selenite, a stone that formed as ancient saltwater seas slowly evaporated and left behind delicate fibrous gypsum. Each plate is engraved with the Flower of Life, a geometric pattern of overlapping circles found carved into temples and sacred sites across the ancient world and long held as a symbol of creation and connection. Hold one up to the light and the fine natural fibres in the stone glow right through the engraving.

About the Material
Selenite is a crystallised form of gypsum, calcium sulfate dihydrate, and the silky variety used for these plates is properly called satin spar. It grows in long parallel fibres, and it is light travelling along those fibres that creates the soft moving sheen known as chatoyancy. Selenite is soft at just 2 on the Mohs hardness scale, so keep your plate dry and away from water, which will dissolve and dull the surface. Read more about this crystal in our Crystal Encyclopedia!
