Unakite
Physical Formation
Unakite is an altered granitic metamorphic rock composed of pink Orthoclase feldspar, green Epidote, and clear to dark Quartz. It forms when granite rocks undergo metasomatic alteration where plagioclase feldspars are converted into epidote by circulating fluids.
Color: Mottled pistachio green and coral-pink with minor clear or gray quartz grains
Mohs Hardness: 6 – 7
