Physical Formation
Moonstone is a member of the feldspar family and forms as molten rock cools slowly beneath the Earth's surface. Its characteristic glow, known as adularescence, occurs when light scatters between microscopic layers within the stone. This creates the soft floating sheen that has made Moonstone beloved throughout history.
