Citrine
Physical Formation
Citrine is a yellow to golden variety of quartz. Natural Citrine forms when trace amounts of iron within quartz crystals are exposed to heat deep within the Earth over long periods of time. While natural Citrine is relatively rare, much of the Citrine sold today is heat-treated Amethyst or Smokey Quartz, a practice widely accepted within the crystal and mineral industry.
